When I walked into Joy & TJ’s ceremony location, one word popped into my head. Elegance. Their whole day the epitome of vintage inspired elegance! From the topiary garden designed by Joy herself all the way to the little crystals sprinkled across the head table. It was a spectacle to behold! Joy hand picked every detail for her day, she and her mother did an amazing job putting it all together!
Not only was this a visually delicious event, but Joy & TJ were absolutely wonderful! The wedding party was up for whatever I asked, the ceremony came equip with a ipad toting Pastor, & the party was full of fantastic moments! I was in my element! Not a single moment went by where there wasn’t something wonderful to photograph! Thank you Joy & TJ for allowing me to capture it all!
xoxoxo,
Mabyn
How did you meet?
Highschool. Travis was a senior at Liverpool HS, Joy a Junior. Went to his Senior Ball together 2002.
How did your fiance propose?
In Joy’s home, there is a family tradition each year where her family bakes and decorates dozens of Christmas cookies. The date was set this past year to be Dec 20th, a Sunday where both Joy and her brother would be back on college break.
TJ made plans with Joy to arrive at the Klein household late morning as he knew it would be an all day event. Joy’s phone rang about the time TJ was to be arriving, he explained he would need a ride as his car wouldn’t start because the battery had died.
Joy drove over to his place, upon entering the home there were rose petals sprinkled in a path up the stairs, down the hallway, leading to his bedroom where he was down on one knee and his heart beating out of his chest. After sweet spoken words he proposed, and with tears in her eyes she said YES!!!
Then they departed in one vehicle back to the Klein house to announce their great news and bake some delicious Christmas cookies, for this will forever be a day they cannot forget!!
Tell me a bit about the planning process for your wedding (how did you pick the venue, colors, funny stories, etc..):
We had dinner in Redfields Restaurant years prior to, loved our entree’s and wanted to have some exquisite food for our big day. Ultimately it was the View from the 20th floor overlooking downtown Syracuse that sold us both on such a venue. Especially beautiful at sunset. I chose the shades of blackberry for my bridesmaids and champagne, bronze, and Deep Sage green for other accents. I wanted to bring the outdoors in with a feel of a garden theme. I believe this was more than practical since I didn’t want to gamble on weather that day and we needed landscape for our new home! It was so magical. Hanging chandeliers on Shepards hooks were our starting point and many items and ideas flowed from there. For our Reception I knew I wanted a wishing Tree in place of a guest book, and a candy buffet was a must have! Edible Arrangements adorned each table as a centerpiece with a crystal hanging votive chandelier. Becoming apart of “Mento produce family” it seemed ideal to have Edible Arrangements as centerpieces, great for guests to snack on too!
What details at your wedding had special significance?
My Father/Daughter dance and the special video my family had put together as a surprise for me. Brought tears to my eyes.
What was the most memorable moment(s) of your day? My individual dances with the most important men in my life…Both dances very different and exciting 🙂 People were in shock after Travis and I dances, many were unaware we took a few lessons. The best feeling was going from starting to cry during the father/daughter video to spinning dad around while he lay on his back on the dance floor!!
If you had to do it all over, would you change anything? Not a thing! The day was everything I could have imagined….and more…wonderful memories to cherish forever…
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
When we were taking Photos prior to our reception outside and Meggan Rendina went to open her flower umbrella and it snapped closed on her! We all had a good hard giggle!!
What was your favorite wedding purchase?
Our landscape we used for the ceremony, we forever have a momento from our wedding day that we can admire everyday from our front yard.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?

They guys were awesome, thanks for trusting me!
