I will never stop being thankful for a career where I get to make friends and then take gorgeous photographs of them. Even if the couples we shoot are just in our lives for that breath of a moment, I’m grateful to have met them. Every now and again tho, Daniel and I will meet a couple that we’re determined to keep in our lives. They are our people. Jacki & Kris are those people. They booked us over a year in advance, and tho we’re 2 hours apart, Jacki and I have grown our friendship via their engagement session, phone calls, and social media. So when their wedding day finally arrived I was beyond excited to even see these two and document their gorgeous and stylish day.
214 Martin St. is a unique and beautiful venue. The contrast of the subway tiled walls with the wooden backdrop all draped in gorgeous lights, it was absolutely breathtaking. A perfect spot for a chic and elegant wedding like Kris & Jacki’s. The staff there expertly switched from ceremony to reception without missing a beat and both scenes were beyond lovely. The florals from Brides and Bouquets were the perfect way to tie it all together. We had an exceptional time working with all of the vendors Jacki & Kris picked for their day. Everyone worked as a giant team and it was so much fun! Thank you to Marissa Demarco for coordinating so seamlessly and to Kristen Stones for the killer party and DJ skills. Y’all were amazing!
Jacki & Kris are two of the most wonderful people you’ll ever have the opportunity to meet. Their outer beauty is only outmatched by the inner. Though the day was about them, they both took time to make sure everyone was well taken care of. It was beautiful to witness. It was clear to see that they were well loved in return with beautiful moments with so many family members and friends. Many hugs were given, tears were shed, and deep love was abounding.
We’ve become well known for 2 things: our night shots and our rain shots. Jacki & Kris got both on their wedding day. The rain was imminent and it only excited Jack & Kris more because they knew we were gonna play! So after their ceremony, we danced in the rain and created some of my favorite photos of the day. Then off to the party to rock out the rest of the evening.
Thank you, Jacki & Kris, for choosing us but also befriending us. We love you both and we can’t wait to see y’all again very soon!
XOXOXO,
Mabyn
