I absolutely love shooting weddings. They’re so hopeful and filled with joy. I always leave a wedding exhausted but over flowing with optimism and love. It’s such an important event that going back through the images I still get a bit emotional.
All of these feelings increase 10 times when the wedding your shooting is family. My cousin Lisa was married on May 24th 2009 at the Emma Willard school in Troy NY. It was an amazing day and a phenomenal week.
This is where I get to rant! Lisa, Frieda, and Gayle are sisters. The 4 of us are very close in age and we pretty much grew up together. I am smack dab in between Lisa and Frieda in age and we all have so much in common! Each woman is extremely stunning and important to me. I can recall so many beautiful memories. Unfortunately life happens and the 4 of us drifted apart. It had been 10 years since all 4 of us had been in the same room together. Quite the momentous occasion I assure you. It was full of squeals, hugs, and stories!
So, I spent a majority of the week catching up with these amazing women and missing the time we had lost due to the complications of life. I was truly blessed to be able to spend quality time with the 3 of them before Lisa’s wedding. During this time, I was able to capture some special images for Lisa. I got fun shots at the bridal shower, did an impromptu bridal shoot, and even though I wasn’t higherd (their photogs did an amazing job!) I still shot most of the wedding. I don’t know what to do with out my camera!
Be prepared, this blog is a long one. This wedding was especially meaningful to me and I miss my cousins so much! I love you all!
