I’m grateful I can look back at 2017 with fondness. It was a year of growth in so many ways.
When I was faced with the beginning of 2017, I challenged myself to move beyond what felt safe. I wanted to improve everything about Mabyn Ludke Photography! And now looking back, I truly think we achieved that this year. 2017 was a special year with a big vision becoming possible. Our website changed, our work has changed, our business practices have changed, it’s been a big overhaul!
I’ve also grown a lot personally. The 2nd year of being a wife was definitely less challenging in some ways and more in others. If you remember, 2016 was filled with a lot of external stuff thrown our way. Thankfully it super glued us together! This year, I set to the task of personal growth. Which is ALWAYS a work in progress! My identity has been wrapped up in being a single photographer for so long that this year I got to find out what it means to be a team. Both as a wife and a business owner! Bringing Daniel into the business officially has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for MLP! But it has forced me to share, which is REALLY WEIRD! Giving Daniel things to do in the business was a challenge because I had always done them. So I had to step back from myself and understand where my strengths and weaknesses lie. As well as doing the same for Daniel. I can’t wait until the day Daniel can quit his job and I can give him more things to do! 😉
We’ve put in a ton of hours, tears, and headaches into 2017 that were so worth it in the end. I’m so excited to see where MLP goes from here! If you were part of the growth process this year, THANK YOU! Thank you for trusting us, for throwing ideas around, for encouraging us, and for loving us well. Now that 2018 is here, we are prepared for the new chapter at hand. I can’t wait to share it all with you!
– We officially made MLP a husband and wife duo! Hooray!
