When I think of Danielle & Dan I think of peace. Not in the hippy let’s go to Woodstock or rally against the “man” sense of the word, but in the all is calm and right with the world sense of the word. The minute I sat down with them to talk about shooting their wedding, I could tell that they didin’t let much ruffle their feathers. Their You + Me session was a lovely afternoon spent chatting and playing with their cute little dog & their wedding mood was just was peaceful but with an added level of joy.
I walked into the always gorgeous Belhurst Castle to find a serene Danielle who was literally glowing with pre-bridal bliss! Their day was simple with some whimsical touches like Danielle’s dress, flowers, and the amazing candy bar at the reception! With a quick ceremony & an emphasis on pictures & party the day went by so quickly! My friend Stacy Claire Peffley came along to help capture the moment & we sure had an amaaaaaaaaaaaazing time! While editing their pictures I just could stop marveling at how sweet and in love Danielle & Dan are. Thank you so much you two for letting Stacy & I capture your beautiful day!

How did you meet?
Dan’s friend and one of my friend’s met online and decided to meet in person at Rosie’s Bar on Tipp Hill. Both Dan and I decided to go with our friends when they met, and that’s how we met eachother. That was over 4 years ago, and we have been together ever since!
How did your fiance propose?
We got home last July from a friend’s wedding and were sitting in our kitchen eating leftover pizza. It was perfect 🙂
Tell me a bit about the planning process for your wedding (how did you pick the venue, colors, funny stories, etc..):
We decided to get married in the summer because of my job, but didn’t really care on the date. We also knew we wanted to have the ceremony and reception in the same place. When we went to Belhurst Castle, we knew that would be the perfect place and picked one of the last available dates. We weren’t very picky with anything and didn’t stick to traditions. We just really wanted everyone to have fun!!!
What details at your wedding had special significance?
We really wanted to include everyone in the fun, so we had songs dedicated to certain people. We also had a lot of UConn fans, so the groomscake was UConn themed and the candy bar had UConn and SU candy bars.
What was the most memorable moment(s) of your day?
The ceremony…Dan was so nervous he kept mixing up the words to his vows. It was really cute!!
If you had to do it all over, would you change anything?
Nope, I think everything turned out perfectly
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Getting the cake all over Dan’s face. He didn’t expect it at all! Also, the best man’s speech was really funny.
What was your favorite wedding purchase?
My dress, my shoes, Mabyn 🙂
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We leave for Jamaica on the 15th – we had to wait because I worked summer school. We can’t wait!!
Any advice for future bride & grooms?
Enjoy the day and have fun, it goes by so quick!!
Check out Danielle’s amazing dress from Spybaby & flowers by Stacy K Floral! They’re amazing and just the right touch of girly meets artsy! Whimsical is the perfect word!
The flower girls were so cute playing “hide from the photographer.” I’d pop out from behind a corner and start shooting, then they’d scream, giggle and run away!
Danielle tried so hard not to cry, but it was pointless! Beautiful tears of joy poured down her face as she walked down the isle to Dan!
We ran a little short in time in between the ceremony & reception. So Danielle & Dan opted to sneak out in the middle of their reception for some GORGEOUS couple’s shots. Totally worth it in my opinion!
The reception was so fun! There were tons of fun moments, I wish I could put more in here but the blog would be MILES long!
