Well, I’ve been married for almost four months now and everything has been such a whirl wind. Which is par for the course with Daniel and I. February was the first month where things finally seemed like they were “settling” and we were able to really enjoy some time in our little cozy home. It’s been more lovely than I can say being Mrs. Henderson. I wake every morning to the most wonderful man, who loves me in a way that I never thought possible. I am a smitten little newly wed and I hope I always am.
I’ve had so many requests for our wedding photos from family, friends, and many many others who’ve followed our little romance. Finally I can share them with joy! Not because I haven’t had them, but because I’ve finally had a moment to sit down and sort through them all and show you my personal favorites that tell our story best. Megan of MorningWild Photography was the perfect choice for Daniel & my intimate mountain wedding. We just adore EVERY picture and it makes me want to go back to that day in Blowing Rock again and again!
I couldn’t narrow it down to one blog post, so I’ll be releasing our story in 3 chapters. This first being our getting ready experience. We loved our venue, The Inn at Crestwood, and they were generous enough to upgrade our room to a cottage as a wedding gift to us! When we rolled into the Creswood the morning of the wedding, Daniel had already been there over night so we had the cottage when we needed it. Then I unceremoniously kicked him out and the boys went to get bagels & coffee in town. Before he left I yelled out the door “I LOVE YOU DARLING!” Even though I couldn’t see him. ALL I wanted to do was run out and hug him so tight! But he wouldn’t let me….punk…;)
I was so thankful for the cottage because it solved a lot of “where will we get ready” problems for several of our out of town guests. Plus my girls gave me some alone time in the loft area where I could reflect and write Daniel a letter. It was so peaceful. Then I came down to join my crazy girls & family to get ready. Lindsey of Face Forward Triad and her team did my hair & makeup along with my girls. Not only is Lindsey incredibly talented, but it was so refreshing to have her there. She fit right in with my crazy group and we all laughed & laughed all morning. Finally it was time to get into “the dress!” I will say, that out of ALL of the things on our wedding day my dress stressed me out the most. If you are curious, feel free to ask me sometime. However, I will say on the wedding day it was perfect.
One thing I was absolutely positive would happen on my wedding day was that I would cry…the entire day…and I was right. It all started when I did the first look with my father. It’s no secret that my parents are some of my best friends and I’m totally “Papa’s little girl!” So this moment was incredibly special to us and I’m so glad Megan was there to capture it. These photos melt my heart every time.
Tomorrow I’ll be posting the first look with Daniel & I, our fun hike we went on before the ceremony, and then the ceremony where Daniel & I could not stop crying…and then laughing…and then crying again!
Until then, enjoy!
XOXOXO,
Mabyn
