Our reception was just so fantastic! In place of walking back down our non-existent isle, we chose to go from “I pronounce you man & wife” to our first dance. We were already surrounded by everyone we love and that mountain view was the perfect backdrop! We swayed back and forth to “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector and I couldn’t help but sing along as we danced. If you haven’t listened to that song, I highly recommend it. So sweet!
Then Daniel and I snuck away while everyone went in to take their seats for dinner. As elegant and dreamy as our event had been, it wouldn’t truly have been the wedding of Mabainel without something geeky! With the impending release of the new Star Wars, Daniel & I just had to take advantage of all the great Halloween gear on display. We entered our reception in Kylo Ren & Storm Trooper fashion! We got a huge reaction from our guests, they loved it! My brother even asked me “You love Star Wars?! I love Star Wars!” How he never knew I was an über geek I’ll never know. 😉
When booking The Crestwood, we only had other reviews and our interaction with them to judge if they’d be great for us. We didn’t have the time or the money to setup a tasting prior to the event, so with fingers crossed we ordered what we hoped would be an excellent dinner and goodness gracious IT WAS! The food was incredible as was the wonderful service. I just adored the wait staff and everyone seemed to agree that The Crestwood was well on point. Then came the toast…and more toasts…and MORE toasts! What a sweet sweet joy it was to have so many of our loved ones stand and talk about who we are. I don’t say that in a boastful way, but in a I was overwhelmed with the incredible hearts that were in that room. I apologize to Brian of Silver Feather Studios for all of the minutes upon minutes of footage he must have had to go through, just in the toasts alone! But I will cherish every one.
I mentioned yesterday how my wedding dress held a lot of stress, so to alleviate some of that stress, I ended up purchasing a 2nd one just in case. When everything worked out with my gown then my 2nd dress became my party dress! Mermaids are hard to dance in and I wanted to MOVE! 😉 Gosh I love that dress and I hope I get to wear it again soon!
Daniel’s mom passed away when he was younger and we wanted to bring her as close to us as possible. We had her picture sitting at the wedding and then in her honor we released dozens of lanterns into the sky! I’ve seen this done at other weddings, but never when the sky was quite so clear and star filled. It was just magical and such a sweet way to show thanks to the woman who brought me my husband.
We ended our incredible day in the best way I know how, DANCE PARTY! My girls and I tore it up and danced like there was no tomorrow! That’s what you get when all of your girls attend weddings as vendors and don’t really get to party themselves. Dance! Dance! Dance! When Daniel and I were ready to call it quits we spent a good half an hour hugging everyone over and over and over! For someone who has seen over a hundred weddings in my lifetime this was by far one of my favorites. Not just because it was mine (which of course I’m biased a little bit) but because there were so many special little moments that I don’t see on a regular basis. It was an experience, not just for us, but for our family & friends. It captured everything I had ever hoped to have on my wedding day and I couldn’t be happier to be Mrs. Daniel Henderson.
XOXOXO,
