This past Saturday I celebrated Katie & Tim’s beautiful wedding day on Seneca lake. When we did their engagement session I got some rockin’ sunset shots for them. So, loving the first set of deliciously red and orange silhouetted shots, Katie and Tim wanted more! I can’t blame them, who doesn’t love a gorgeous sunset shot? But there is just some weird artist thing in me that wont let me shoot the same thing twice (or if I do…I don’t show it). Hence you have my little Mabyn brain always in the “On” position. “Hooooowwwwwww can I make this sunset new and different from the last time?” Sometimes I shoot different angles, less of the sunset, sometimes close, and sometimes far away. It all depends.
This time around I went minimalistic and only snagged a bright orange corner while shooting through some plant life (I like to go on safari from time to time). Oh yeah and I threw in my new beloved backlit flash thingamabob and BAM-O! A new twist. Add onto that my happy mistake – I had my on camera flash accidentally on and the light caught some of that plant-age in front of my lens. When I chimped (guilty and proud!), I thought I would discard the shot, but on second examination I found the composition to be way more interesting than the other “correct” shots. No textures here folks, everything is in camera. Enjoy this different twist of a sneak peek from Katie & Tim’s Love Story!
