I sat on my couch with Daniel watching the weather report only a few days before Hurricane Matthew was set to hit. I had said my prayers fervently that Matthew would stay off the coast and leave us a beautiful sunny weekend for the festivities ahead, but sunshine was not to be in our forecast. Rain poured down from above and wind raged that Saturday morning as we drove up to the Grandover Hotel in Greensboro, NC for Cari & Amol’s wedding extravaganza. We had already resolved that we were going to roll with the punches and that no matter what these two would have an epic wedding regardless of the weather. Besides, these two had already weathered one hurricane together in DC, what was one more? Family still arrived from all over the state and the world to celebrate these two. Sure, the weather caused a few hiccups, but for the most part I think it enhanced their day. They’ve got quite the story to share now!
The day was split into two parts and so I’ll split their story into two blog posts. Here we have part one, their AMAZING Indian wedding ceremony! It was so full of color and life, it was like candy for my eyeballs! After it was over and the rest of their wedding party had gone to get lunch, Cari & Amol asked me “Could we go play in the rain?” I didn’t have to think twice before I said YES, YES, YES! How wonderful it was that not only did they still get married despite Matthew, but they EMBRACED him fully! I’m totally smitten with these rain photos and how joyful Cari & Amol look.
