Classic, elegant, and hot! Those are the best adjectives I can think of to describe Danielle and Joe’s wedding day. I think the weather was keeping with a theme seeings how it was just as hot the previous year when we did their You + Me session! You’d never know it by looking at Danielle and Joe. They took the heat like pro’s and posed and smiled like it was a cool 75 degree’s! On top of that, their whole day was just absolutely beautiful. They were wed in the historic Willard Chapel where everything you see is Tiffany! Then for a modern twist, we jaunted down to Emerson Park for the formals and reception. Danielle’s vision of clean whites with pops of green and navy was stunning! Everything played off of each other so well.
For me, my favorite part of every wedding is seeing how two families come together in such a wonderful way to celebrate! People put aside their own lives to join in and lift up two people madly in love. There was nothing so beautiful as being witness to that at Danielle and Joe’s wedding! Thank you so much Danielle and Joe, for choosing me to be part of your day, to capture it all, and to witness your love! It was truly beautiful!

How did your fiance propose? My fiance proposed on one of the most romantic days of the year….Super bowl Sunday! Luckily for both of us, it was not during halftime J We went out for a lovely brunch at Mirbeau in Skaneateles and when we were on our way home, he suggested that we stop in town and walk around to some of the shops. We walked around downtown Skaneateles for a bit and then we found a little path leading down to the water (it was winter so the lakefront was covered in snow). We were just taking in the moment when Joe pointed out some locals ice fishing on the lake. I looked and when I turned back Joe was down on one knee!
Tell me a bit about the planning process for your wedding (how did you pick the venue, colors, funny stories, etc..): I started planning almost immediately after we became engaged. We booked the big things right away (photographer, florist, etc.) and once the venue was booked everything else fell into place. I wanted the entire day to be simple yet elegant and I think we did a pretty good job of pulling that off!
What was the most memorable moment(s) of your day? First would have to be walking down the aisle and seeing Joe. I was extremely nervous the whole time leading up to that moment and just seeing him standing there helped to calm my nerves. The second thing would be the speeches given by Joe’s brother Billy and my friend Marielle. Hearing them say such touching and heartfelt things about Joe and I was something we will never forget.
If you had to do it all over again would you change anything? I wouldn’t change anything other than the insanely hot weather – it was 98 degrees!!
Any advice for future bride & grooms? Not to stress over the details and just enjoy the moment. The only thing that matters at the end of the day is that you are married to your best friend.
What was your favorite part about working with Mabyn Ludke Photography? Everything!! She was so extremely helpful and so much more than a photographer.
