It seems like every day I run into a photographer or an aspiring photographer. I love talking shop and seeing other peoples styles. Recently I’ve gotten a lot of request from some fellow female photographers to follow me around or get some tips on wedding photography. So I decided to start the Femme Fotog Workshop.
We met at my place got all the models sassifyed and then headed to the Lincklaen House. I want to thank all of the models: Christina, Liz, Lauren, and Ryan for being amazing sports! They did pretty much anything we asked! Also, all of the dresses were donated by Spy Baby Bridal. I absolutely adore that boutique!! Thank you so much to everyone who helped out!
Our first meeting focused on Natural light, posing, and some flash. I really wanted to make sure the ladies got good work for their portfolios.
I gave them a couple of challenges. The first was to create a beautiful and then a dramatic picture just using natural light. (the photos you see are mine for examples sake)
Then we played with some flash techniques. The first image is direct flash, the second is bounce flash behind me, and the third is directional flash bounced off to the side to get the final dramatic look:
I invited my friend Ryan along as a model because he’s HUGE! Ryan is 6′ 7″ and a challenge to photograph with short brides (mwahahaha!). So we played with posing techniques. First Ryan by himself and then Ryan with a model.
Next we went outside because the light was just too beautiful to resist!
Lastly, we played with available light inside. It can make stunning photographs! (The first image was just for fun!)
Thank you again to everyone involved! Models, Vendors, and Photogs! I couldn’t have done it without you!
Mabs — OMG GREAT JOB! I’m super impressed! Go girl!
