Hannah is a bride who knows what she wants and man does she have fantastic taste! With her bubbly personality and infection smile, it was easy to connect with Hannah and become friends. So when she told me her grand vision for her wedding day I knew it was going to be spectacular. Not only did Hannah know what she wanted, but she knew who to hire to achieve that vision. Tonya of Abba Design executed it flawlessly (as always) and turned the Villa De l’Amour into a dream land of opulent flower arrangements and stunning details. Originally Hannah & David were to be wed at Hannah’s childhood home, but with massive thunderstorms and the practically boiling temperatures already at the beginning of June, Hannah (again with her good taste) chose the Villa De l’Amour in High Point, NC as her backup venue. If I hadn’t been told a week out that they were changing their venue, I would have thought that it was always meant to be at the Villa. The perfect spot!
It was a good thing Hannah changed her plans too because oh my that day was HOT! I do love me an outdoor wedding, but good gracious sweating is not my favorite thing. So THANK YOU Hannah for your wisdom! Other than the heat tho, Hannah’s day was just lovely and it was easy to see that David just adored her. Their day had so many smiling faces quick with a joke and a laugh, sweet vows said through tears, and a giant celebration of Hannah & David’s union. Everyone was on cloud nine that day and it was well deserved!
Thank you Hannah & David for granting me the honor to capture your incredible day! Ya’ll are amazing!
XOXOXO,
Mabyn
Tell me about the planning process of your wedding:
The planning process as a whole was very smooth!! Tonya from ABBA Design was my go to, literally the week after we were engaged. Considering David and I had dated for 4.5 years by the time he proposed we luckily had already discussed a lot of the things that we wanted. A lot of stuff David let me have free range on, which was awesome. We originally had chosen to have the wedding outside at My parent’s house in Asheboro under an old magnolia tree, BUT of course, Mother Nature would not let that happen. Again, our planner Tonya was to the rescue and offered us to have the wedding at Villa de l’Amour in High Point, and it was everything we had hoped for. Plus it was air conditioned 😉
What was the hardest part when planning your wedding?
Honestly, the guest list. It was so hard to draw the line on who we needed to invite. I know that seems simple, but it can get very crazy very quickly.
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
For me, I have two major moments that happened. The first was my mother’s gift to me as my “something old” was a diamond necklace that she had custom made from her and my late father’s wedding rings. I had no idea she had this entire thing organized and she not only gave me the necklace but had an entire video made with old pictures and sentiments of me and my dad. It was surreal, and very touching. And of course, my other memorable day was the moment I saw David at the end of the aisle. I know that sounds cheesy and cliché, but honestly it was such a pure moment of love and desire for one another.
What was the funniest moment of your day?
Funniest moment was literally trying to hide from the boys while we were waiting for the ceremony to begin. Of course my bridemaids were keeping me completely occupied, but the entire day just seemed like I was on a cloud.
If you had to do it all over again is there anything you’d do differently?
Honestly…no. It seems weird to say that because I feel as a bride I should complain. But, everything went so smoothly and if it didn’t, I didn’t know about it. haha
Any advice to future brides & grooms?
GET A WEDDING PLANNER! I honestly don’t know how people do it on their own. There was so much behind the scenes that I didn’t have to deal with, that I am truly thankful for!! When I was stressed about something she was there to answer questions and make me feel at ease.
What about Mabyn Ludke Photography stood out and caused you to book?
I loved her night pictures. Knowing that our wedding was supposed to be @ 6:30pm and outside, that eliminates a lot of photographers that are not familiar working with no sun. I also loved the natural, non-posy pictures. Everyone looked like they were purely enjoying themselves, and not uncomfortable.
What, specifically, was your favorite part about working with Mabyn Ludke Photography?
The overall kindness. Even though I had only met Mabyn once in person before my bridals, I felt as if she could be a good friend. She fit right in, and was not pushy. She made sure that we got the pictures that I wanted by prioritizing. It was a wonderful experience!!
If you were to recommend Mabyn Ludke Photography to your best friend, what would you say?
BOOK HER…like now!! haha
What was your favorite photo that Mabyn Ludke Photography captured?
So far…I guess I would say the black and white picture under my veil. I’m a sucker for black and white pics.
