As promised here’s part 2 of Jen & Eric’s special day! I can’t get over how many details and precious moments there were! Jen and Eric really made it a point to show their guests how much they adored them! Everything from the gift bags they provided when you came to the hotel to the gorgeous lunch on the water all the way to the decidant dessert bar at their reception! There was non stop laughter, joy, and especially FOOD! Wow, I could do a blog on just all of the different food items and detail of that day! Kate Brown from Lovewell Celebration Design really out did herself! š
Jen and Eric’s wedding day really encompassed the idea of a Love Story! They made it their own by not conforming to “what a wedding is suppose to be.” They took risks but they kept the most important thing their main focus. Their loved ones. Everyone they invited felt pampered and special, even me, and I’m just their photog! š Jen and Eric are the most kind hearted and genuine people you’ll ever meet and everything on their day reflected that! I really can’t thank you enough Jen and Eric! It was an extreme honor andĀ privilegeĀ to be part of your day and capture it for you to cherish for many years to come!
xoxoxo,
Mabyn
How did your fiance propose: Eric completely had me surprised on this one. We were living in Connecticut at the time in 2010. When Eric and I got back together we use to hang out at Green Lakes State Park a lot. One week in late August we decided to go home to see our family, go to the NYS Fair and the next day have a family picnic at Green Lakes. Eric loaded the truck up in the morning and picked me up from work so we could get on the road for NY.
After we arrived in NY, the next day we went to The NY State fair and had a great time with some friends. Since my sister lives in Jamesville we stayed with her that night after a long day at the fair. I was not feeling great the next morning when we had to meet the family for our picnic. We decided it was a good idea to go eat a greasy breakfast at Rusty’s and then head to Green Lakes. I remember thinking it was funny when I looked into my sisters fridge and she didn’t have any chicken marinating for the picnic:) Long story short…there was no picnic, Eric and I got to Green Lakes and he said, “Lets walk around the lake until people get here to,stretch our legs and maybe if will help me feel better. I just wanted to plop my butt on the beach towel and read a magazine but I took a walk anyways. Glad I did because as we were almost around the lake we went off onto a limestone reef area on the lake. And that is when he started talking “craziness” like he was talking to my dad the other day and then I realized he was going to propose. I let out a huge scream of joy! It must have gotten everyone’s attention because people stopped and clapped. One person even yelled, “you better of said yes!” It was just perfect and wonderful. To top the day of surprises off, Eric gathered all our closest family and friends(some from Massachusetts and hours away) to surprise me at a local restaurant in Herkimer for our Engagement party! It was an incredible day and everyone was in on it except me!!
Tell me a bit about the planning process for your wedding (how did you pick the venue, colors, funny stories, etc..): We originally wanted our weddings in Cooperstown but we couldn’t find a venue that gave us that Adirondack feel, so after much searching by Kate and ourselves we found The Whiteface Lodge. The process was tough at times but so glad I had Kate she made it virtually stress free.
What was the most memorable moment(s) of your day? When my mom started to cry when she saw me in my gown and walking down to my groom!
Funniest memory from your wedding day? Those flower girls waddling down the aisle like a flock of little ducklings and that darn photo booth!!!
If you had to do it all over again would you change anything? I would make it last longer and take more of it in!
Any advice for future bride & grooms? Embrace the moment!
What was your favorite part about working with Mabyn Ludke Photography? Her up beat, laid back and fun personality. She takes her job seriously but also truly enjoys when she is behind the camera and it shows when you work with her.
