When choosing a wedding photographer there are a few things you should do. A) check out their work, look at multiple samples & photographs, and make sure their style fits your taste. B) Meet with that photographer and see if your personalities match. Your photographer is someone who is going to follow you around (at least I will) ALL DAY! So you want to make sure that you like the person documenting your day. C) Once you choose a photographer, keep in contact with them during your planning process, even if it’s just to say hello (Especially if it’s me!) It will help build that relationship and when your wedding day rolls around you’ll have a friend documenting your day, rather than a random person that you’ve hired.
Kate & Brian followed all of those steps to the letter! So when their wedding day came, not only was I super excited to shoot the wedding, but it was as if i’d been part of their family for ages! Kate’s Mom greeted me with a big hug and doted on me until Kate got there. She decorated the home beautifully, spent hours cleaning, just so I could capture her everything to it’s full potential! Then came the gorgeous Kate who also gave me a giant hug and chatted with me like we were old friends. The house was full of this joyous energy and delectable light that I just couldn’t get enough of!
The ceremony took place at the Holy Cross Church where I was greeted by the sweetest Priest I have ever met! The ceremony was overflowing with love and emotion and colors! Oh the colors! We then ventured out to White Springs Manor, owned by Belhurst Castle, to do the formals. Again, I couldn’t have asked for better colors! The wine dresses contrasting the yellow vineyards & gray skies! It was like I was in a painting! Then off to the Belhurst for an amazing party! The whole day was such a fantastic celebration of Kate & Brian! Thank you so much Kate & Brian for not only having a spectacular wedding, but making me feel like I was part of it all! You are truely wonderful!

About the day:
Bride & Groom:
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Kate – The most memorable part for me was standing at the end of the aisle with my father, waiting to go into the church. It was so exciting to have the doors open, the Bridal Chorus start playing, and to see Brian for the first time that day.
Brian – The most memorable moment for me was seeing Kate smiling in her wedding dress as the church doors opened!
What was you favorite detail?
Our little attendant, Lindsey Goudy, carrying the “Here Comes the Bride” banner during the wedding ceremony. The banner was kept as a surprise for everyone, including Brian, and Lindsey was so excited to announce that the bride was coming!
Any advice for future bride & grooms?
Make sure to enjoy your big day! Take 10 minutes with your husband/wife and make sure to take in everything – the centerpieces, flowers, cake, your guests dancing and chatting. Realize as you look around that all the people there have come because they love and support you. They are all celebrating the love that you two have and believe in your future together. It’s the most amazing, indescribable feeling.
Also, make sure to eat!
Funniest memory from you wedding day?
The surprise performance to “Teach Me How to Dougie” by Brian’s three friends – Justin Moses, Ben West, and Ben Beardslee. Being Halloween weekend, they dressed up in costumes and took over the dance floor! The guests all joined in and learned “The Dougie” from them.
If you had to do it all over, would you change anything?
Not a thing – it was perfect!
What was your favorite wedding purchase?
The wedding photos. We are looking forward to displaying them around our house and using them to remember such a special day in our lives.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We are planning to take a romantic getaway next year.
What is your favorite wedding photo and why?
We enjoyed doing the “GQ” shots with our attendants on the steps at White Springs Manor. It was so much fun to spend some time laughing and celebrating with just our closest friends.
Kate & her mom were ridiculously cute! They decorated their whole home for Kate’s special day! I wasn’t even in the house before I started snapping away!
