I am constantly amazed by my clients and the incredible people they surround themselves with. Each story is one of love, care, and joy in such unique ways. Haleigh & Brent’s special day was just spectacular, but what was more spectacular is how Haleigh, Brent & their families managed to coordinate such a beautiful event while Haleigh was in DC training to be an Air force journalist! Talk about discipline and dedication! She returned from training just two days before her big day and managed to do everything with glamorous style!
Their wedding took place at Kress Terrace, a cool warehouse styled venue in the heart of downtown Greensboro. Their wedding was a huge contrast to their rustic engagement session with tons of brick and industrial elements. I loved that they were both up for shooting in the nearby parking garage! There were so many beautiful details and beautiful moments to fill out their day. My favorite was when Haleigh came up to me towards the end of the night and said “Can we just say goodbye to everyone and go take more pictures?” Twist my arm! Up we went to the top of the parking garage to get some seriously epic and romantic shots!
Now these two love birds are down in Charleston, SC and Daniel & I can’t wait to visit and see them both again! Thank you so much Haleigh and Brent, you’re both so amazing!
XOXOXO,
Mabyn
– Tell me a bit about the planning process for your wedding :
Well planning was mostly pinterest inspired as soon as Brent popped the big ole Will Ya, Would Ya Wanna, Kick it with me question. I was secretly planning even before, but aren’t we all? We both LOVE The Great Gatsby and all things related to that. (we both say how we would love to be in that time). So of course we wanted the white and black look with elegance but of course so sparkle and razzle dazzle. I quickly realized how hard it would be planning from a distance while I was at technical training in Maryland, and learned I wouldn’t be coming home until 2 DAYS before the wedding! AHHH!……But with the help of our families (HUGE help) and having my handy dandy planning binder we made it work. I will say this, we unfortunately had to do a lot of coordinating the night before because of the lack of communication our caterers provided, but in a way it was a blessing because we saw how amazing our friends and family were when we really needed the help.
Sidenote: We actually went to Olive Garden when Brent came up to Maryland, got a bunch of used wine bottles, soaked the lables off in our hotel tub with warm water and glitzed them out for our centerpieces and Brent took the 30-something wine bottles back to NC.
– What was the most memorable moment(s) of your day?
Mine: Seeing Brent’s face when I came down the isle, and my dad’s face before he gave me away. Brent’s: Our dance and Kissing the Bride (of course :P)
– Funniest memory from your wedding day? Brent searching for the Garter!
– If you had to do it all over again would you change anything? Nope, even if it was hectic, we loved how it turned out!
– Any advice for future bride & grooms? Always start a little earlier than expected when getting ready, things go wrong and time flies because you are super excited! Also, take a moment with your better half to stop and soak it in!
– What was your biggest fear before hiring me? Oh none we knew you had the niche we wanted to have our special moments captured!
Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead? You shocked us even more than we could have expected
What, specifically, was your favorite part of working with Mabyn Ludke Photography and why? How comfortable we were with her! How awesome she was with coming up with ideas and how she even helped direct a little bit!
– If you were to recommend Mabyn Ludke Photography to your best friend, what would you say?
A different style of photography than whats out there, she really captures the true moments, the ones you want to take a mental note of and try to remember, she captures those to a T.
