What a way to close the door on another fabulous wedding season! Since moving to Statesville, Daniel and I have shot all over the country and the state but we’ve never shot a wedding in our own home town! Statesville is one of those quiet little spots with a cute historical downtown and minimal traffic. Neighbors help each other out and front porch sitters are common. Daniel and I have fallen in love with this sweet town and it’s been a great fit for us. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when Mary-Claire & Terry chose to come back home for their beautiful Statesville winter wonderland wedding!
Mary-Claire & Terry currently live in Nashville but chose Mary-Claire’s home town to tie the knot. It’s hard planning a wedding from a distance so Mary-Claire’s mom, Laura, stepped in and created a stunning winter wonderland wedding for her daughter and son-to-be. We didn’t have snow on the ground, in fact the first weekend in January was actually a balmy 60 degrees! But with a little “Mama Magic,” Laura, convinced the town of Statesville to leave the holiday decorations up just long enough for these two to have sparkling lights everywhere! Their home church was still beautifully decorated for Christmas as well so everything had hints of the winter wonderland magic. Last, but certainly not least was the Statesville Civic Center for their reception. Daniel and I have visited for various event, but never have I ever seen it dressed up so beautifully! White fabric draped elegantly throughout the hall while candles flickered from giant tree-like candelabras on each table. And no winter wonderland would be complete without Christmas trees dripping with lights throughout the room. It was spectacular!
As with all of our clients we love to create a bond so when the day comes along we blend in seamlessly. Mary-Claire and Terry were so easy to get along with and had smiles from ear to ear all day long. It was clear to see their warm personalities didn’t just extend to us because they were both surrounded by so many friends and family members! All day long groups of friends would come, give hugs, chat, and circle around again later. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed such a bond of friendship with so many people. Mary-Claire & Terry have clearly left their mark on a lot of hearts. It was beautiful to witness and capture each and every beautiful moment. Thank you for choosing us!

Mabyn
