Welcome to my blog! I'm thrilled to be able to share with you my favorite images from weddings, engagements, maternity, and more! Grab a cup of coffee and get snuggly cuz this blog will give you all the feels!
Picture this, a beautiful autumn day where the surrounding tree’s are shades of orange and gold. The wind blows gently as you make your way down a winding path, acorns fall making a soft rustle as you walk. Slowly, but surely the path widens into a stone walk way and right before you is a beautiful stone castle complete with drawbridge! Sounds like I just described the beginning of a movie or a scene out of a book right? Guess what, that was my introduction to the Castle McCulloch near High Point, NC when I went there for Brook’s bridal portrait session! From the moment I laid my eyes on this place, I knew I was in for a treat!
Brook met me there and we had an amazing morning of creating some gorgeous portraits, but also some of my favorite “artsy” pieces. There were so many beautiful pockets of light and unique spaces in and out of the Castle. It makes it even more enjoyable when your bride is pretty much up for anything that I asked, even if she did get a bit dizzy from all of the spins I made her do! But just look at the pictures, totally worth it!
If you’re on the fence about whether to do a bridal session or you’re afraid of getting your dress dirty, maybe this session will change your mind and you’ll get to create some amazing artwork to hang on your walls!
Next week I’ll share Brook & Drew’s EPIC wedding at the Castle McCulloch! Stay tuned!
I love that my brides are so adventurous. My normal concept of a bridal portrait was something that was pretty stiff and normally taken indoors. Not really my style. So when my brides are excited to go adventuring in their wedding gowns BEFORE their wedding, I know that I’ve got a pretty cool bride who is going to ROCK IT!
Surprise, surprise, that’s exactly what Hannah did at her gorgeous bridal portrait session! I ventured out to Asheboro, NC to her parents home and man oh man did we have some fun! There were ATVs that we got to ride around in, cows that ran away from us, an AMAZING bouquet by Abba Design, and gorgeous buttery light that makes me swoon every time! Pop in a bride who sure knows how to work the camera, aka Hannah, and you have magic!
Bridal portraits make my heart so happy and they’re ridiculously fun, what girl doesn’t want to feel gorgeous in her wedding dress as many times as possible? Seriously Hannah, you’re incredibly beautiful inside and out! Thanks for going on an adventure with me and creating some gorgeous art!
I know it’s been radio silence over at the MLP blog for awhile. Life has been as the kids say these days….okay as I say these days….”Totes Cray!” I don’t know if I’ve ever encountered a more busy season of life (even when I shot 27 weddings in one year)! I will hopefully be posting an update blog soon, but I felt the need to get some picture goodness up first! My blog is so so lonely with out it!
And what a lovely way to get back into the regularity of posting! Emmalee & I had so much fun at her bridal session. Southern sessions are no joke people, they’re hot, sticky, and full of flies that like to eat you alive! Emmalee, the amazing woman that she is, took it all in stride and posed like a pro! Hanover Park Vineyard was THE perfect location for her too. Emmalee loves the rustic but with a touch of elegance. Combine all of the old structures at Hanover with the gorgeous vineyard and you get just that!
Next up will be their gorgeous back yard wedding! I can’t wait!
