Welcome to my blog! I'm thrilled to be able to share with you my favorite images from weddings, engagements, maternity, and more! Grab a cup of coffee and get snuggly cuz this blog will give you all the feels!
Ana & Allen’s wedding day was all about fun! They wanted to have fun, they wanted their guests to have fun, their color scheme was fun, and I know I sure had fun!
When we first sat down and chatted about their wedding I could tell their day was going to be full of love & laughter! We started the day at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church right in Greensboro. Lets be real here, churches don’t think of the photographer very often when it comes to designing their getting ready spaces. I’m sure some of these churches were built before modern wedding photographers existed! So we wedding photogs gotta make it work, and if you work it right you can make any spot look amazing! Personally, I just need one good window. Gimmie that drama! Our Lady of Grace had a particularly fantastic window where Ana got ready. I was rather in love with it…the rest of the church was great too…but that window made me a happy lady!
We finished the ceremony with a smile and a fist pump and then hopped onto a DOUBLE DECKER BUS to the Greensboro Arboretum for formal pictures. See?! FUN! Ana and Allen even braved a sprinkle to get some incredibly romantic formal photos. YAY RAIN! Really…who says that? Ummmm ME, your resident weirdo photog.
We jumped back on that bus, (oh how I loved ducking every time a tree whizzed by) and headed to one of the most fabulous parties that I’ve been to in a long time at Revolution Mills Studios! Ana and Allen’s group of family and friends love to dance and do it well! Ari and I had a fantastic time capturing every. single. hilarious. moment! Thank you to the photo booth for letting the props come on the dance floor! I think Ana and Allen may have some great blackmail material…;)
Thank you so much Ana and Allen for booking me out of all the photographers you could have. It was an incredibly fun day and I can’t wait to see you in just a few days!
I was very impressed that all of the groomsmen had legit bow ties!
I’m a sucker for reflections, add in some gorgeous stained glass and I’m so happy!
Earrings and I are best friends! Every time a bride puts on her earrings, it creates a gorgeous bridal portrait.
How beautiful is it when you can see the generations in one picture?
The rain didn’t stop Ana & Allen from enjoying their wedding day!
Ana is sure adventurous! Her hair blowing in the wind made for some fantastic photographs!
A huge THANK YOU to Ariana Watts of Silver Feather Studios for being my second eyes for the day! She got the details while I was off playing.
Father Daughter dances always make me melt. Ana had to wipe her dad’s tears of joy away.
More tears of joy! Score!
Allen hates cake…can’t you tell? 😉
I love it when the photo booth props flow into the reception!
Ok wedding crew, I’m giving you massive props! You all have some stellar dance moves and it was SO FUN capturing the party!
What’s that? You want to do some night shots? Twist my arm!
I love all of the black and white in the photo, especially since they were Ana & Allen’s colors!
– Tell me a bit about the planning process for your wedding:
Our original plan was to have our reception in a hotel ballroom. But, every ballroom we went to look at was dark, and the only window in one faced out into a concrete square. So we left hotels, and started searching elsewhere. The one thing I knew for sure was that I wanted a ton of windows at our reception venue. When we walked into Revolution Mill it was wall to wall windows, exposed wooden beams, wooden floors, it was absolutely beautiful and perfect! It served as the perfect backdrop for our wedding.
– What was the most memorable moment(s) of your day?
I will never forget walking with my Dad down the aisle, and seeing Allen waiting for me at the altar.
– Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Riding on the double decker bus and dodging branches on the top. And then on the way to the reception realizing we hadn’t bought any mixers and stopping off at Food Lion.
– If you had to do it all over again would you change anything?
Honestly, not to brag, but no, I wouldn’t change anything.
– Any advice for future bride & grooms?
Take lots of pictures, have a videographer, and enjoy every moment. It’s so fun to look back at the pictures and video of your event to fill in the gaps.
– What was your biggest fear before hiring me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
My biggest fear was that we didn’t have enough time with you. Our event was so long, and I wanted to capture everything. But, honestly I feel like you captured everything we wanted.
– What, specifically, was your favorite part of working with Mabyn Ludke Photography and why?
I loved that she was so friendly with all our guests. She honestly felt more like a guest then a photographer, and she even stayed to celebrate with us after!
– If you were to recommend Mabyn Ludke Photography to your best friend, what would you say?
She is very personable, and is willing to do what ever you want. But, what’s more important is that she has an artistic eye that allows her to capture your day in a way more beautiful then you imagined. And, your photos to become more of art, pieces to be displayed on your walls.
