Weddings are always a beautiful celebration of two people commiting to a lifetime together. Family & friends come to honor & celebrate two becoming one. This mountain view wedding at Crest Center & Pavilion in Asheville, NC was even more powerful due to Mallory & Peter’s commitment and sacrifice for our country.
You see, Mallory & Peter are both are part of our U.S. Army. Their relationship started back in bootcamp and has seen all the ups and downs that most relationships incure. However, these two have had it extra hard having to spend sometimes months upon months apart due to deployment. When we last met for their Blowing Rock engagement session, they were about to spend almost a year apart! I was all together a bundle of emotions knowing that just weeks after that session they’d have to say goodbye. I think it’s still one of my favorite sessions to date. When they reunited state side they had a blissful 4 months to finish planning and get things ready for their big day. But it didn’t take long for their country to call on them again and now they’re spending several months serving apart. I tell you all of this not to create pitty for them, but rather to set the emotional scene of their wedding day. I don’t think two people have ever celebrated harder! This day was truly joy-filled and all of their waiting and sacrifice was well worth a party like this!
On the day of their wedding, Asheville was at it’s best. The sun was shining, mountains were in full view, and Crest Pavilion rocked it as they always do. Huge shout out to Tammy who lead up the coordination for that day. She was a ton of help and a joy to work with! She helped all of our fellow wedding vendors and made Mallory & Peter’s vision come to life. So when it came time for the big moment, everything ran flawlessly. We even got done early and had extra time for wedding portraits. Y’all that’s the rarest of the rare for us and we gladly took advantage of it. Fast forward to the party, Sound Extreme killed it and the dance floor was filled all night long. Mallory & Peter’s guest sure knew how to party!
At the end of the evening, while taking night portraits, I asked Mallory & Peter if their wedding was all they had dreamed it would. After almost two years of planning, months spent apart, and the stress of planning a wedding while over seas, the answer was a resounding YES! We couldn’t be more thrilled and excited for these two to be husband and wife! It was a true honor to capture every moment for you!

We all know I’m a sucker for a mountain view and Asheville’s Crest Center & Pavilion provided an epic backdrop for Lindsey & Mark’s incredibly romantic wedding day! This wedding is one for the books folks, between the epic mountain views as far as the eye can see & Lindsey’s flawless taste their wedding day was just perfect!
It’s amazing to me how impeccable their wedding was when you take into account the giant mountain that they had to climb! You see, Lindsey & Mark experienced something no couple should have to deal with in planning a wedding. Their original wedding venue had an electrical fire about a month prior to their wedding and they were left without a venue for their very special day. However Asheville’s wedding community is AMAZING! They went to bat for Lindsey & Mark and found several venues that they could host their wedding. One stood out among the rest, Crest Pavilion. If I wasn’t already in love with Crest Pavilion due to it’s beauty, I quickly fell MORE in love with them after their generosity towards Lindsey & Mark. Truly everything worked out better than expected!
When their wedding day finally came, the vendors did an incredible job decorating Crest Pavilion with flowers by Karen Brown’s Floral Design, the cutest little cake by Well-Bred Bakery & Cafe, and an a rockin’ party hosted by Craig of Mitch Fortune Productions all of the details flowed beautifully in this dream like day! Then add in all of Lindsey & Mark’s beautiful family & friends. I normally have a great relationship with my couples, but it’s even more exciting for me when I bond with their family as well. From the moment I got to Crest Pavilion I felt like I was part of the family. It warmed my heart so very much!
I am so honored to not only have documented Lindsey & Mark’s beyond incredible wedding day but call them my friends…hopefully for many years to come!
XOXOXO,
Mabyn
