Welcome to my blog! I'm thrilled to be able to share with you my favorite images from weddings, engagements, maternity, and more! Grab a cup of coffee and get snuggly cuz this blog will give you all the feels!
Sometimes clients just “get” you. They see your work, read your blog, and instantly they feel a connection! Katie and Mike are two such people. We have mustual friends in common. Susan & Chris showed their wedding pictures to Katie and Mike and that was it! Katie contacted me and booked me on the spot! WOW! We didn’t even get to meet until their You + Me session at the NY State Fair! Instantly we fell into a friendship like we had known each other for ages. I am SO excited to shoot their 2012 wedding!
Ok now onto the actually photo shoot part. Originally Katie and Mike were going to do a pretty simple theme and then Katie asked me if we could do the fair instead. Bright colors, crazy people, and amaaaaazing light! Twist my arm! 😉 So we spent a splendiliquent afternoon/evening bashing around the fair, making people part like the red sea, and eating deliiiiiiicious food! I am so excited to have made two new amazing friends! Yay! Now onto the photographs!
I say it time and time again. I LOVE my friends! They are the most amazing people in the world. No offence to the rest of you…buuuuuut if you become my friend then you’ll be included in that general statement! 😉
Emily & I have been buddies for awhile now. We run in the same circles, have the same nuerotic sense of humor, & love to be creative! It’s very hard to see why we get along so well! 🙂 She first told me about KJ over New Years, I was so thrilled that she had found someone that made her face light up with just a thought. From there it was a quick courtship to engagement and soon marriage. I was one of the first people Emily called…partly because i’m her friend but mainly because she HAD to have ME as her photographer! Oh such a hard life I have! We immediately sat down and started chatting about everything wedding, included scheduling their date around my already busy summer schedule. I love you Em, you make me feel so important! 😛
So now we come to their GORGEOUS You + Me session! After going through several ideas, Em & KJ decided on Buttermilk Falls & The Boat Yard Grill as their locations. Mainly because Emily loves my epic nature shots & KJ is super active. We spent 3 glorious hours huffing and puffing up trails, taking pictures, swatting bugs, & having fun! After the session was over we stayed for dinner at The Boat Yard Grill. Their food is Fab! Do try it if you’re ever in Ithaca. Thank you so much for everything Em & KJ, I love you guys and I couldn’t have picked anyone better for my friend!
When I think of Holly & Jeff, I think funny, sweet, and comfortable. They just go so well together, like it’s always been that way. I especially loved listening to all of their stories & inside jokes. I could totally imagine them growing old together. We had a great time up at Syracuse University exploring spots that I had yet to shoot (like the parking garage & cool wall sculpture) and then we moseyed over to Barry Park and walked along the running trail. Thanks Holly & Jeff for being willing to try anything! I can’t believe I have to wait a whole year to shoot your wedding!
Holly & Jeff have thumb wars all of the time
Jeff’s won this round!
Parking garages have great angles & lines! So fun!
I’m surprised I hadn’t shot at the sculpture wall on S.U. yet. SUPER COOL!
We had to sneak in just a little bit of the dome!
Holly & Jeff LOVE Harvest Cheddar Sunchips! So of course we integrated them into the shoot.
A blue Heron was hanging out for the shoot.
Coolest leaves ever.
