As hurricane Matthew is making it’s way up the coast, this sweet couple is preparing for the biggest weekend of their lives. Cari & Amol’s wedding will prove to be amazing no matter the weather. With Ladybird Events at the helm and this couple’s families in attendance, no hurricane can put a damper on this couple’s excitement to be married at the Grandover in Greensboro, NC.

Speaking of excitement, I was SO excited that Cari & Amol wanted to have their engagement session in Washington DC where they both live. We spent a sunny evening exploring the historic monuments of the National Mall and then as the sun went down we ventured over to Georgetown for some seriously awesome alleyways and cobblestone streets! It was interesting shooting at the National Mall where hundreds if not thousands of people visit every day. Tons of people make it difficult to make the setting feel intimate and special, however I’ve yet to back down from a challenge and somehow managed to pull it off! Of course it doesn’t hurt that Cari & Amol are completely head over heals! The way they look at each other just melts everything else away!

I’m so thrilled to be able to hang out with the two and their guests for the next two days and celebrate their love!

XOXOXO,
Mabyn

It’s not every day you get to shoot an engagement session + an actual¬†proposal! Talk about an awesome way to pop the question! When Ashley contacted me about doing a You + Me session she and Steven weren’t even engaged yet. She knew it was coming and that their wedding would be in Virginia. She loved my work so much that she scheduled a You + Me session before it was even official! This is why I love my clients! ūüėÄ

We started up at Syracuse University and had a great time touring the campus, since Steven had never been. We then ventured down to Franklin Square to do part 2 of the session. Just as I’m positioning Ashley for the next shot, I see Steven get down on one knee and pull out a tiny box! I bring my camera up just in time for Ashley to turn around and get the official question! Ah! I was so excited to have captured it all right then and there! Now they’ll have those moments forever to cherish! I tell you there’s never a dull moment in this job! Thank you so much Ashley & Steven for choosing me to capture the beginning of your love story!

xoxoxo,
Mabyn

P.S. Ashley left a comment on Facebook with a little more of the story that I thought I’d share: ¬†“Additional information…I WAS TOTALLY SURPRISED! I knew he was going to ask my dad’s permission at breakfast the next morning in person while in Syracuse. I knew he’d never ask without asking permission first… Little did I know my parents were in on it and had already given their blessing! :)” – Ashley

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend full of Luuuuurrrrvvv! That’s right. I said Lurv.

Anywho, my weekend was so wonderful. Saturday was spent taking pictures and then hanging out with three of my favorite people in the world. We got sushi and spent the evening playing card games. Not super romantic but it was more than enough for me! Here’s a shot Donna, my beautiful roommate, took of the 4 of us.

Sunday was all sorts of crazy. My best friend, roommate, and personal model, Lillian was proposed to Sunday evening. I plotted with her now¬†finance¬†and we came up with an elaborate¬†scavenger¬†hunt/scheme/engagement party all wrapped into one! I wont go into detail because you’d be here all night reading this blog, but it went off with out a hitch! She was surprised to say the least! Images and possibly video to come soon.

Speaking of video, I know I promised the¬†debut¬†of my new Canon 7d’s video awesomeness but alas, my current computoral state is not powerful enough to process the awesomeness that is the 7d video. Therefor, there will be some delay in getting that tasty goodness to you. Rest assured though, I will do everything with in my power to show you. Oh yes, it will be shown!

February¬†has be full of some great stuff so far. It’s usually about this time that I start getting depressed and try to figure out how to leave Syracuse until spring finally returns to us. So far this month has proven to be fairly mild and pretty¬†bearable.

On the one had you have the greatness that is birthdays, superbowl, valentines day, and the sun finally starting slow it’s decent in the sky to after 6pm. On the other hand you have insanely cold days, high gas bills, and snow, snow, SNOW! ¬†This year the good out weighs the bad.

I’m going to leave you with a picture of a delicious looking black bean burger by morning star. I didn’t take the picture but man it looks¬†appetizing! I had one of these over the weekend and my life has been changed. I really think it would be possible for me to go vegetarian. Morning Star and Quorn make some great products! If only they weren’t so darn expensive!

Marvelous Monday: The Valentine Edition
