Welcome to my blog! I'm thrilled to be able to share with you my favorite images from weddings, engagements, maternity, and more! Grab a cup of coffee and get snuggly cuz this blog will give you all the feels!
You may recall a sweet little wedding nestled in the Appalachian mountains about 45 minutes from Asheville that Daniel & I shot last summer. Jenna & David are worship leaders and they contacted us to shoot their incredibly sweet & beautiful Burnsville, NC wedding. After most weddings, I send a few photos to the vendors who helped create such a wonderful event. We love lovin’ on our vendors and we appreciate all they do so the least we could do is share a few photos with them. Little did we know that this simple act would lead to quite the chain reaction!
Our images were shared from vendor to writer to magazine editor! We ended up getting a full page feature in Mountain Escapes Magazine! A completely unexpected and wonderful surprise! We also landed an invite to the 2017 Burnsville Bridal Expo. After all of that love, how could we say no?! So we packed up our photos in the car and headed to what is quickly becoming one of my favorite little towns, Burnsville!
Amelia Hoilman of White Falls Catering did an incredible job of setting the stage for all of the talented vendors to showcase their specialties. We had a great time introducing ourselves and getting to know the local community. I’m a HUGE fan of supporting local and this community sure knows how to do it right! On top of the beautiful setup in the Burnsville Town Center, they invited West Entertainment to get the party going, & had a hilarious cake smash where brides clawed through layers and layers of cake to find the ring hidden inside! It was quite possibly one of the nicest & most entertaining bridal shows I’ve ever attended!
As some of you may know, 2017 marks my 10th year as a wedding photographer. That means I’ve officially been shooting weddings for a DECADE! Okay, now if looking in the mirror didn’t make me feel old, this sure does! However, it’s a milestone I will gratefully celebrate! To work at something I love so much for so long, to have others support me, to be able to see hundreds of joyful brides and grooms as I scroll through my website look back at me, it’s a feeling of satisfaction and peace that I can’t aptly describe.
Most of the time when we attended a bridal show we give away an engagement session. This year however, I wanted to go big in celebration of 10 years! So we opted to give away a wedding collection! WHAT?! I know! We’re crazy! So it is with much joy & excitement that I get to announce that the winner of our Wedding Collection Giveaway is Margaret Casey & Jackie Sprinkle!!!!! Congrats!!!! We’ll be sending you an official “You won lets get our happy dance on” email and we can setup a time to discuss all the details! EEEE! YAY! This is so much fun!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth. We can’t wait to shoot more beautiful weddings in the WNC area and have an amazing 2017 season!
Daniel & I have had a whirl wind romance in a way. We met & married in 6 months and within that time he started assisting me at weddings. By the end of 2016 he had shot 10 weddings with me! Since things happened so quickly, people haven’t gotten to know Daniel as well as they have me. So we thought it would be fun to put together a little “We are your wedding photographers” Q&A! This round is very light hearted and focuses more on Daniel than I, but we hope it’s a great way to introduce ourselves to the 2017 wedding world as a fully functional HUSBAND AND WIFE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY TEAM!!! I had to say that in all caps cuz I’m so ridiculously excited!
We’re also planning on making this YouTube thing a normal occurrence. So make sure you subscribe to our channel for helpful wedding tips, photography ideas, marriage stories, and again…cats!
So enjoy our silly selves and if you have more questions about Daniel & I, weddings, or our cats feel free to leave a comment below or shoot us an email. We’d love to keep these going!
Guys, you know it’s bad when I’ve waited this long to blog some of these sessions. Ang & Chad’s super sweet engagement happened over the summer and I’m just now blogging it…#TheStruggleIsReal
Ang & Chad have such a cool story. They met while they were both vacationing in Florida, Chad is originally from Upstate NY & Ang is from Canada. They both fly back and forth visiting each other when they can and plan on having a Winnipeg wedding next winter! How on earth did they shoot their engagement session in Greensboro, NC you ask? Well that itself is a crazy small world story. Note that Chad is originally from Upstate NY, but he now resides in Greensboro. When Ang & Chad decided on Greensboro as their engagement session location, Chad started the photographer research. He didn’t look far, because when he saw my phone number on google he immediately called me. Why? Because my area code was the same as his was back in Upstate NY! No looking at my website, no vetting other photographers, he called me and chatted me up for about 30 minutes. As we talked, we discovered that we actually knew a lot of the same people and grew up only a few towns away from each other. How crazy is that? After that Chad was decided, but he had to get Ang on board. Luckily that didn’t take much and a few weeks later I got to spend an afternoon hanging out with this fantastic couple!
Since they both travel so often to see each other, we thought it might be fun to start out at the airport, who knew you could take pictures at the airport?! So cool! We then ventured back to Cre8 because Ang & Chad love the outdoors and are avid hunters. One of my favorite parts of last summer were the epic thunderstorms we got. It made for some epic clouds and the rain started juuuuuuuust as we were finishing the session. Perfect timing!
It was so much fun getting to spend an afternoon with these two and I love how something as little as an area code brought us together! I know that their Winnipeg winter wedding is going to be amazing and I pray many blessings over their new adventure together!
I’m back up in NY to shoot a wedding and this weekend is calling for SNOW! What?! Of course, the one weekend in October…Oi…my toes are cold just thinking about it!
So I just HAD to post this perfectly beautiful & sunny NC engagement shoot of Katie & Lee at Junius Lindsay Vineyard. If I think warm thoughts and post warm pictures I’ll be warm right?
Katie & Lee are incredibly sweet and just adore one another. Junius Lindsay is actually where Lee proposed! Well done sir, well done! It’s such a beautiful location and so relaxed. I love visiting new vineyards and testing out the wine. Daniel hasn’t gotten there yet, but don’t you worry he’ll be an expert one day! 😉
So now I’m going to put on some socks and snuggle up against the impending cold. How quickly I’ve become a southerner!
