Welcome to my blog! I'm thrilled to be able to share with you my favorite images from weddings, engagements, maternity, and more! Grab a cup of coffee and get snuggly cuz this blog will give you all the feels!
Daniel and I visited San Francisco for a hot second to shoot Allie & Matt’s gorgeous wedding! That’s coming along the blogosphere soon! YAY! Of course while we were there we had to squeeze in a tiny bit of adventuring and when I was last in San Francisco I didn’t get to spend too much time with the Golden Gate Bridge. So I scoped out the spot to go for the best bridge pictures. It took a bit to find the place with all of the traffic and the tiny entrance, but we finally made it to Vista Point. I was so excited until I saw the hundreds of people crawling all over taking selfies. Both of us were a little bummed, but we managed to find parking and wiggle into a spot on the wall to take our own selfie…except the light sucked! It was harsh and in our eyes. They turned out okay, but I wasn’t very satisfied.
After our 30 minutes (5 of that taking pictures) at the Vista Point we decided to head into the city for dinner. Once we got over the bridge we noticed another little park that seemed to be a lot less crowded. We easily found parking and WAY better lighting. Thanks to Fort Whitmore I was able to get the bridge photos I was hoping for!
Sometimes adventuring means taking a chance and trying something else when the first attempt doesn’t work. I’m so glad we did!

Mabyn
Vista Point – squinty eyes and sunglasses…
We’re still cute, even if the light is harsh.
This is what the point really looked like…
And here we are at Fort Whitmore. Vastly improved views and lighting!
I stuck the camera on a fallen log in the weeds for these shots. Yay for timers and pretty weeds!
San Francisco was a real treat….heh heh heh….Ok sorry, but I just had to. But truly, it was a treat for Gina and I who had never been. It was even more exciting when friends reached out for photo shoots while I was there. What a better way to truly see the city than through my camera lens doing what I love best?! It was especially amazing because I got to spend a day with Natalie and Brian! I had met them briefly at my friend Bethy’s wedding 6 years ago, but we didn’t really get to know each other until this shoot.
Oh. My. Gosh. I simply adore them! Not only do they have a crazy artsy sense of style that I greatly appreciate, but their so genuine and funny! I can’t tell you how many times I just burst out laughing at something Natalie and Brian said or did. On top of that, they drove us all over the city checking out amazing location after amazing location despite the chilly weather. We visited the Golden Gate bridge at Baker Beach, Coit Tower, Clarion Alley, & Lands End! Phew! We ended the day at this amazing Japanese restaurant that had some of the best Ramen Noodle soup I’ve ever eaten! Seriously, that soup alone is worth another trip out to Cali…mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Best Ramen everrrrr *droooooool*
I’m so grateful to my tour guides Natalie & Brian for everything they did that day. It was an incredible way to see the city and make some amazing new friends! I can’t wait until the next time I get to visit with them!

You may have noticed an extreme lack of new content the past couple of weeks. I’m so so sorry to neglect you. This is the hardest part about all of my adventures as a traveling wedding photographer. Trying to balance all of my normal work stuff with all that comes with traveling. Currently I’m sitting in a cafe a few minutes before I depart for Napa Valley to shoot a Monday afternoon wedding! Yup a Monday wedding! I love that my clients are so unique in every single way! So I promise that I have lots of delicious eye candy coming your way, it’s just finding the time to post it! In the mean time, here are a few instagram shots from my adventures with Gina thus far! If you haven’t found me on Instagram just search MabynLudke or pop on over to my fan page Mabyn Ludke Photography to keep up with our shenanigans! See you soon!
