Every now and then I get an opportunity to stretch my photographic muscle and just “play!” It’s so refreshing to not have any pressure to “do well” or capture something specific & just shoot for the pure enjoyment of it.

There is a group that I belong to called The Rising Tide Society. It’s motto is “A rising tide lifts all ships” and it’s goal is to help entrepenuers support one another to grow healthy business. This amazing group of entrepreneurs is nation wide and there are several local chapters through out NC, the closest of them being in Hickory, NC. I’ve only been to a few meetings so far, but I can tell you that these ladies are “in it to win it!” They’re all incredibly passionate, work hard, and love their craft whatever it may be. So it’s an honor to be part of this ever growing group!

Recently, we had the opportunity to get together for  a headshot swap. We met in downtown Hickory and spent 2 hours shooting, laughing, and producing some wonderful images! It added a new layer of friendship to this group that is growing ever closer. They’re all so beautiful and I hope my shots do them justice. It was such a joy to capture their glowing beauty! Here’s to all of the #BossLadies that came out to rock it in front of the lens!

XOXOXO,
Mabyn

Last month one of the photography groups I belong to, Taking Photography, got together and shot each others beautiful faces…luckily with cameras…There is so much fantastic talent in North Carolina and these ladies are not only talented but gorgeous as well! It was a joy to capture their beauty! I even got my mug shot taken by several of these ladies. What a fun morning exploring down town Winston Salem!

Mabyn

Maggie is a student at Appalachian State. She’s bright, kind, and loves LOVE, just like me! In fact, Maggie isn’t just my gorgeous “model” for SBC, she’s my gorgeous AND talented assistant for my 2015 wedding season! I thought what better way to introduce her to all my bride’s & grooms than by doing a Simply Beautiful session with her? I’m super excited to have Maggie on board and I know that everyone is just going to adore her! I must admit I was am obsessed with Maggie’s gorgeous hair. I just had to break out the fan and play! Thanks for putting up with my crazy, Maggie! 😉

Oh and P.S. if you haven’t seen the amazing video she made for SBC then make sure you check it out below. This girl’s got some serious talent and I can’t wait to help her hone & grow it. I’m also excited to see what shenanigans we get into because you know I’ll be instagraming them all!

Please help me in welcoming Maggie to the MLP family!

If you’ve been keeping tabs on my blog posts then you’ve met Juliana before. She was one of my beautiful 2009 brides! She and her husband Dave had an amazing wedding and I fell in love with both of them!  So when Juliana needed new headshots for her auditions she came to me! Awesoooommmeee!!!

The day itself went well….until….my camera broke in the middle of our shoot! (GAH! Really?) My second body had broken the week previous too! So I literally could do nothing but apologize like a fool and reschedule. Luckily Juliana and Dave love me just as much as I love them and they were good with continuing their shoot at a later date. Preferably one without snow on the ground! This doesn’t happen often, and I’m greatful it happened now and not at a wedding! So now I have 3 cameras, 2 in working condition ready to go, and 1 that will be fixed soon and will be the triple backup! So do not fear, this WILL NOT happen again!

We did manage to get some great shots before the camera died though!  I can’t wait to see what we get next time around! Woohoo!
