Syracuse, NY holds a special place in my heart. There are so many reasons, but the biggest one is because of the people. The friends that I have made there are the type of friends that will always have your back, will always love you, and will always support you. It’s a huge reason why Mabyn Ludke Photography did so well up in that frozen tundra, but also why we keep going back. This time around, it was my friends Amy & Nate who tied the knot and asked if we would make the trek. There wasn’t even a seconds thought, it was an immediate YES! So off to Syracuse we journeyed to capture their incredible Sky Armory wedding day!

Mother nature was looking forward to giving Daniel & I the full ‘Cuse experience. We drove up through blustery snow storms, shot in 40 degree weather, and by Sunday (when we left) it was 65 and gorgeous! OF COURSE IT WAS! Thanks Upstate NY! Oi.

Despite the chill in the air, Amy & Nate’s wedding was nothing short of epic. We were greeted with familiar hugs and shouts of “MABYN!” as we stepped into the Jefferson Clinton Hotel and all were excited to finally meet Daniel. We chatted as we took pictures, caught up with friends, and celebrated with Amy & Nate. It was pure joy being there for every single moment!

Amy & Nate’s reactions to seeing each other as a bride and groom will always be in my top favorites. These two have encountered quite the journey & their patience and diligence has been gifted with this beautiful union.After the ceremony we ventured out into the cold to take photos in some of the most iconic & wonderful spots in Syracuse! We visited The Most, Franklin Square, and Clinton Square!

Then my friends it was time to party! And have I mentioned how my friends LOVE TO DANCE?! There were some serious moves goin’ on out on that dance floor & as always Bill from Black Tie Entertainment killed it with his song selections! I don’t think there was a single song where that floor wasn’t fully packed.

In the end, I didn’t want to leave! This was seriously the best excuse for a reunion ever! Can we do this every year you guys?! Thank you Amy & Nate for asking us to capture your incredible wedding day. We couldn’t be more honored to make your dream come true, but I’ll let you in on a little secret, you made ours come true too! We love you both so much and we pray these photos are a daily reminder of your sweet love & all that Christ has done for you!

Bride: In thinking of your groom – What are you looking forward to on your wedding day?

Giving him my gift. If Daniel is there to catch that, great. If not, not worries. Getting all dolled up to look beautiful for him. Seeing him for the first time at the ceremony. The first dance. Our cake is a surprise, so I’m excited for him to see it. A few minutes alone (sort of) while taking pictures.
Groom: In thinking of your bride – what are you looking forward to about your wedding day?

Seeing the doors open, seeing her for the first time as a bride, and her walking down the isle towards me. Holding her hands during the ceremony. Having a dance party together!
What are you BOTH looking forward to on your wedding day?

Putting the rings on each other. Dancing and having fun, with each other and with friends. The sparkly exit! The food! The decor is something different than a lot of weddings we’ve seen, and we’re really exited about it.
What are you both looking forward to in MARRIAGE?

Not having to say goodbye every night!! Setting up a place of our own. Traveling and going on adventures. Serving together at church. Encouraging and helping each other grow in life and in our spiritual lives. Eventually starting a family.
