Last weekend I came down with a mega head cold. The kind that kicks you on your butt and keeps you in bed for days! While I was sick, I kept thinking to myself “Man, I’m so glad I don’t have a wedding right now.” It’s the absolute worst shooting a wedding when your sick! That lead me to think about what I would do if something more tragic were to happen and I couldn’t make it to a wedding. I’ve had a system set in place for awhile, but not everyone does. So here are my tips on how to prepare yourself for when life comes at you and you can’t make the wedding!

Network & find those people who you can rely on when bad things happen
Communicate to your client when things start to get dicey & either reschedule and prepare your clients for the possibility you wont make it
Care for your client by connecting them with your network of photographer friends that YOU ALREADY KNOW are available for their date
