Welcome to my blog! I'm thrilled to be able to share with you my favorite images from weddings, engagements, maternity, and more! Grab a cup of coffee and get snuggly cuz this blog will give you all the feels!
This past weekend I surpassed 30 and jumped to 31…an insignificant birthday by all normal standards, but in my little world it was extremely important! You see last year I moved away from several of my closest friends. It was the hardest part about moving. I couldn’t see their faces whenever I wanted (although google chat offered some relief) and I couldn’t just pop on over and spend time with them. My love language is TIME. Probably because I don’t have much of it to spare. So when I invest time into someone it means they’re REALLY important to me and vice versa. This year my 3 best friends and their hubbies all came to visit me for a long weekend. It was the best birthday present I could ask for! I don’t need “things” to know they love me, they all drove 600+ miles to be with me on my special day! Of course the time went waaaaay too quickly, but it was incredibly special none the less. We spent Friday shooting each others faces, Saturday being bums, and Sunday with good food & movies! The. Perfect. Weekend! We all agreed that this needs to be an annual thing. NC seems to be a great midpoint between FL & NY.
Here are a few shots from our weekend. Most of the pictures were taken on our photo day and then on the morning everyone drove home. It was nice putting down my phone & camera for a day or two so I could live in the moment. I am blessed beyond belief to have these incredible women (and their husbands) in my life! They provide comfort, commiseration, accountability, laughter, song, joy, and general silliness. They’ve all been there for me and I try my best to do the same. They’re all INCREDIBLY talented women and I’m so excited to be part of their artistic journeys. Thank you darlings for making my birthday extra special this year. Come back to me sooooooooon!
Cell phone silliness…
The whole crew!
My friends are some of the most beautiful women ever!!! I’m biased of course 😉

Today is the day of my best friend’s birth. I can’t be with her in FL, as much as I would like to right now. We got an ice storm last night and it’s been quite wet & cold today…FL would be extremely nice right now. Since I can’t be there, I guess I’ll just have to watch this awesome film of Donna & Benny’s gorgeous wedding day! Hopefully I’ll be transported back to that gorgeous 80 degree day that I got to spend standing with one of the most wonderful people in my life!
This film is my birthday present to you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE! I love you SOOOOO MUCH and I’m so glad you have Mr. Benito to celebrate with you today!

The tail end of my vacation consisted of turning into a 13 year old girl in anticipation for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! It was completely worth the odd looks and humiliation associated with a 28 year old acting so silly. As we entered the threshold of Harry Potter’s world, I literally felt like a kid again! How often do we get to do that? Now that I’m back here in the office, watching this video reminds me of the need to “feel young” from time to time. There’s nothing like that wonder, awe, and carefree spirit that children regularly encompass. I am so thankful that I got to remember what’s it like and that I have this video to remind me on those days that I’m a crank old fart! 😉

I am SO excited to share with you all this particular Love Story! Not just because it was an epically beautiful wedding or that my clients are MEGA AWESOME! Mostly I’m uber excited due to the fact that this was my FIRST EVER destination wedding! Courtney and Craig loved my work enough to fly me down to Anna Maria Island in sunny FL to capture their special day! Legit, my jaw hit the floor! I couldn’t believe it, how could I say no?! So off I flew to blue waters and 80 degree weather in February…oh my life is so hard sometimes! 😉
The whole process exceeded any expectation I might have had! I can’t say I wasn’t nervous toting my gear through airports, luckily no one thought I was suspicious and I made it down just fine. Courtney greeted me at the airport and we were off running! We did errands, made plans, and soaked in the weather! I was able to meet both families ahead of time and take part in their rehearsal process! It was SO MUCH FUN! Plus hanging out for 3 days in a mini paradise didn’t hurt either 😉 The actual day of the wedding was perfect! Not too hot, crystal clear skies, a GORGEOUS couple, and a pretty epic sunset to boot! My favorite part was the fact that I shot the whole wedding bare foot! Ahhhhhh exfoliation! 😉 A big thanks to my Bestie Donna for treking out to help shoot the wedding! She did a fantastic job! This whole experience has left me giddy and feeling like another family member! I truly love Courtney and Craig and I am so blessed to be their friend who happens to be their photographer!
Check out Courtney & Craig’s personal story after the pictures! 🙂
